Admissions Requirements: 

General Admission Requirements

Post-secondary students must:

*      Be 18 years of age or have a high school diploma or GED

*      Complete and submit an Application for Enrollment

*      Interview with the Coordinator of Student Services

*      Have a definite occupational goal

 

Practical Nursing Admission Requirements

Practical Nursing applicants must:

*      Complete and submit the Practical Nursing Application for Enrollment

*      Meet the minimum qualifications on the Nurse Entrance Test (NET)

*      Submit evidence of a high school diploma or GED

*      Submit three work references or character references

*      Submit a health record (physician’s examination report) and immunization records

*      Attend an information session

*      Be approved by the Practical Nursing Advisory Committee

 

Cosmetology Admission Requirements

Cosmetology applicants must:

*      Be 18 years of age or have a high school diploma or equivalent

*      Have completed at least ten (10) high school credits or have obtained a score of at least four hundred and fifty (450) on a GED test prior to completion of the program

*      Complete and submit an Application for Enrollment

*      Interview with the Coordinator of Student Services

*      Have a definite occupational goal

Applicants will be added to the program waiting list on the date their Application for Enrollment is received by the Center. Letters will be mailed to the applicants indicating acceptance into the program of his/her choice and will specify the date of scheduled enrollment. The Center will hold applications for a period of six (6) months for all applicants who do not enroll on their scheduled date. Applicants who do not enroll during the six (6) month period will be required to reapply to be considered for acceptance.

Exceptions to the reapplication policy may apply to the Practical Nursing program and programs that have waiting lists which may not permit an applicant to enroll within the first six (6) months of the original application date.
