Admissions Check List

 

  • There are different admissions requirements for General Admission, LPN Admission, High School Students, Online Students, and those seeking admission to supplemental certificates such as CNA. The following is a check list in each area to help guide you through the process.

    General Admission (Adult Students)

    This application is for adult students interested in applying for one of the following programs:
    Automotive Technology
    Business Systems Technology
    Collision Repair Technology
    Computer Information Technology
    Electronics Technology
    Machine Tool Technology
    Welding

    1. Must be 18 years of age or have a high school diploma or GED
    2. Complete the General Admission Application either online or one may be picked up at the Tennessee Technology Center at Huntsville. If you complete the application online you must call student services with your Social Security Number.
    3. Immunization Requirements must be complete and documentation given before student can be placed on the program waiting list.
    4. Financial Aid appointment will be made after admission application and immunization documentation is submitted.
    5. Applicant registered with Selective Services (Males only)
    6. Financial Aid Appointment - Bring all required documentation and be on time. Financial Aid office is located at the TTCOH Huntsville campus.
    7. Orientation Session –Student must attend orientation session.

    Cosmetology Admission (Adult Students)

    This application is for adult students interested in applying for the Cosmetology Program.

    1. Complete the General Admission Application either online or one may be picked up at the Tennessee Technology Center at Huntsville. If you complete the application online you must call student services with your Social Security Number.
    2. Immunization Requirements must be complete and documentation given before student can be placed on the program waiting list.
    3. Copy of High School Diploma or High School Transcript (cannot be from an online high school program) or GED submitted
      1. If applicant did not graduate from high school, answer the following questions:
      2. Did applicant score at least 450 on GED?
      3. Did applicant compete a minimum of 10 Credit hours in high school?
    4. Applicant registered with Selective Services (Males only)
    5. Was applicant ever enrolled in Cosmetology program?
      1. If yes, the following must be submitted and verified:
      2. "Withdrawal" form completed by previous instructor?
      3. Expiration date of applicant's previous hours (7 years from the first date of enrollment in any Cosmetology program). **If hours are scheduled to expire during enrollment at TTCO/H, only award transfer credit in the amount of hours eligible up to the point of expiration.
      4. Transfer Credit hours from completed by instructor and applied to student's transcript upon enrollment?
    6. Financial Aid Application (FAFSA) completed
    7. Orientation Session –Student must attend orientation session.

    Practical Nursing Admission (Adult Students)

    This application is for adult students interested in applying for the Licensed Practical Nursing Program.

    1. Must be 18 years of age or have a high school diploma or GED.
    2. Pass the COMPASS Exam or meet requirements for ACT entry.
    3. Complete the Practical Nursing Admission Application either online or one may be picked up at the Tennessee Technology Center at Huntsville. If you complete the application online you must call student services with your Social Security Number.
    4. Submit evidence of a high school diploma or GED
    5. Submit evidence of American Heart Association First Aid/CPR certification. Students can register for class given before LPN class begins.
    6. Submit a health record (physician’s examination report) and Immunization Requirements must be complete and documentation given before student can be placed on the program waiting list.
    7. Submit 3 work references or character references.
    8. Financial Aid appointment will be made after admission application and immunization documentation is submitted.
    9. Financial Aid Appointment - Bring all required documentation and be on time. Financial Aid office is located at the TTCOH Huntsville campus.
    10. Orientation Session –Student must attend orientation session.
    11. Be approved by the Practical Nursing Advisory Board.

    Dual Enrollment Admission (High School Students)

    This application is for high school students interested in applying for one of the following programs:
     

    Automotive Technology
    Business Systems Technology
    Collision Repair Technology
    Computer Information Technology
    Cosmetology
    Electronics Technology
    Health Science
    Machine Tool Technology
    Welding

    1. Students must either be a junior or senior at Clarkrange High School, Jellico High School, Landmark Christian School, Oneida High School, McCreary High School, Scott High School, or Alvin C. York Institute to enroll in our dual enrollment programs. Current contract agreements exist with those schools but others can be added.
    2. Complete the Dual Enrollment Application either online or one may be picked up at the Tennessee Technology Center at Huntsville. If you complete the application online you must call student services with your Social Security Number.
    3. Dual Enrollment Grant Application must be completed. If student is not eligible for Dual Enrollment Grant then student may still enroll but will be responsible for tuition cost of $300 per trimester.
    4. Selective Service Registration - All male students over the age of 18 must be registered with Selective Service.

    Online Program Admission

    This application is for adult students interested in applying for one of the following online programs:
    Allied Health
    Business Systems Technology  
    Computer Information Systems  
    Drafting and CAD Technology
    Web Page Authoring

     

    1. You will need access to a computer with internet for the duration of the program.
    2. Complete the online Prospective TTC Student Profile and Application at: https://rodpttc.tec.tn.us/profile.asp. Select your Home Center (this is the center that will take care of your registration and where you will receive your certificate from).
    3. Complete the General Admission Application either online or one may be picked up at the Tennessee Technology Center at Huntsville. If you complete the application online you must call student services with your Social Security Number.  You are not enrolled until TTCOH Student Services receives you Admission Application
    4. Financial aid application (FAFSA) - You must contact TTCOH Student Services at (423) 663-4900 to schedule an appointment to complete the necessary financial aid application (FAFSA). Or, you may complete the application online by visiting: http:///www.fafsa.ed.gov. If you complete the information online, you must contact Nancy Boles at (423) 663-4900 to inform her that this has been completed.
    5. After all required applications and financial forms have been completed; you must determine the number of hours that you can realistically spend each day for online training.This will help the Campus Contact to assist you in selecting courses. You must then determine which courses you would like to register for (paying special attention to prerequisites).
    6. Once classes have been decided upon, you will be registered in the RODP courses and must pay all tuition/fees. If you are eligible for federal Pell Grant, your tuition/fees will be charged to the available award.
    7. Books must be purchased from the online bookstore www.rodp.org/home.htm.
    8. You must acknowledge that you have read the following information in the handbook (an acknowledgement form is included in the enrollment packet). The information is located in the TTC Student Catalog/Financial Handbook.

    9. Once all steps have been completed, you are officially a Regents Online Degree Program (RODP) student.  If you encounter any technical difficulties with the online program, please contact the RODP Help Desk at (866) 550-7637.
