Dusty Lee Becomes A+ Certified

Tennessee Technology Center at Oneida/Huntsville’s Computer Information Technology instructor Rodney Stephens is pleased to announce that Dusty Lee has become A+ certified. The A+ exams now emphasize more on networking.  This exam tests for the fundamentals of computer technology, networking and security, as well as the communication skills and professionalism now required of all entry-level IT professionals.

After passing the required A+ Essentials exam, Dusty took the Practical Applications exam.   This exam focuses more on a "hands-on" orientation based on scenarios in which troubleshooting and tools must be applied to resolve problems.  CIT Instructor Rodney Stephens explained that passing both CompTIA exams further proves Dusty possesses invaluable skills and knowledge in the Information Technology field and have proven to surpass future employer’s entry level expectations.  These exams reflect the latest changes in Information Technology focusing on IT networking fundamentals.  In combination with enhanced hands-on training provided by the CIT program and passing these exams, Dusty has proven ready for an entry level IT profession. It is important to note that many companies, including Microsoft, Ricoh, Lenovo and Cisco, recommend or require CompTIA certifications.  Certified technicians are more knowledgeable and confident about the problems they handle than non-certified technicians, and can more easily adapt to changing technologies. This can lead to new career opportunities for anyone who completes the CIT program and achieves the A+ certification. Dusty  hasmet the challenge passing both A+ exams becoming A+ certified.

If you are interested in pursuing an advanced and exciting career in Information Technology, contact Computer Information Technology instructor Rodney Stephens or the TTCOH Student Services Coordinator Tim Smith and schedule a one-on-one appointment to discuss the program details and options.  Both these individuals may be contacted by telephone at 423-663-4900 or by visiting the Center’s website at www.ttconeida.edu.
