TTC Oneida/Huntsville Hosts Luncheon for TN Department of Education Officials & Secondary Partners

Tennessee Technology Centers at Oneida/Huntsville hosted a luncheon on August 23, 2012 for Tennessee Department of Education representatives and TTCOH duel enrollment partners.  TTC Oneida/Huntsville director Dwight Murphy welcomed the DOE officials and guests. A powerpoint presentation on TTCOH and Secondary Partners was given by Misty West, TTCOH High School Counselor/Career Coach, and Tony Hamblin, Distance Learning Coordinator. Following the presentation was a round table discussion led by DOE Assistant Commissioner Danielle Mezera. Next PC967 was discussed and a distance learning simulation was conducted for the DOE officials by Tony Hamblin.

Those present were Department of Education Assistant Commissioner Danielle Mezera, Ph.D. , DOE Director of Divisional Operations and Industry Development Casey Haugner, Program Manager: Jobs for TN Graduates, High Schools that Work Melissa Canney, and Executive Director for Student Success in CTE Division Marty Willis,  Scott County Mayor Jeff Tibbals, Scott County Director of Schools Bill Hall, Scott County Schools Career Technical Education Director Curtis Bruce, Scott High School Assistant Principal Vince Owens, Oneida Special School District School Board Chairman Nancy Williamson, OSSD Director Ann Sexton, OSSD Assistant Director Jenny Hatfield, Oneida High School Principal Kevin Byrd, York Institute Superintendent of Schools Phil Brannon, York Institute Career Technical Coordinator Gary Tinch, Morgan County Schools Director Edd Diden, and Morgan County Career Technical Center Director Joe Miller,  TTCOH advisory member and Custom Gregg’s owner Greg Jeffers, and  TTCOH advisory member and Takahata Precession Mike Slaven. TTCOH advisory member TTC Oneida/Huntsville representatives were Director Dwight Murphy, Assistant Director Amy West, Student Services Coordinator Tim Smith, High School Counselor / Career Coach Misty West and Distance Learning Coordinator Tony Hamblin.
