August 2012 Practical Nursing Commencement

Tennessee Technology Center at Oneida/Huntsville (TTCOH) held its graduation ceremony for the August 2012 Practical Nursing (PN) class on August 30 at Trinity Baptist Church in Huntsville.  There were 15 graduates in this PN class representing the following five counties – Scott, Fentress, Campbell, McCreary and Laurel County Kentucky.

Assistant Director Amy West welcomed the students’ families and friends to the Tennessee Technology Center at Oneida/Huntsville’s August 2012 Practical Nurse graduation.  Floyd Hutson, LPN offered the invocation. The graduation speaker was PN student Rebecca Ellis.  Practical Nursing instructor Robin Reed, R.N. presented the awards for academic achievement to Valedictorian Denise Rosser and Co-Salutatorians Rebecca King and Moriah Terry.   Academic Honorable Mention went to Elizabeth King and Tracey Brooks.  Also, recognized for Attendance was Elizabeth King.  The Clinical Peer Recognition Award is voted by the class. The following characteristics were considered— professionalism, team player, enthusiasm, application theory, and caring attitude.  The Clinical Peer Award went to Moriah Terry and Honarable Mention went to Elizabeth King. TTCOH Director Dwight Murphy, Assistant Director Amy West, Student Services Coordinator Tim Smith, Practical Nursing instructors Sue Dourm, and Robin Reed made the presentation of diplomas, caps, and pins to each of the graduates. Practical Nursing Coordinator Rae Ellis led the students in the nurse’s pledge. The graduation ceremony closed with Clark Posey, LPN offering the benediction. Immediately following the ceremony, the guests were invited to a reception honoring the Practical Nursing August 2012 graduates.
