TTC Students Visit Washington to Promote Technical Education
Tennessee Technology Center at Oneida/Huntsville was well represented at the 2012 Washington Leadership Training Institute which was held on September 15-19. Those attending the training were as follows: 2012 Post Secondary SkillsUSA State President Tony Hamblin, Computer Information Technology student Tiffany Lowe, Business Systems Technology student Yvonne Bearse, and Cosmetology student Sarah Sharp. Also in attendance was Janet Watson Business Systems Technology instructor and Advisor.
Studentscame from across the nation to participate in the Leadership Training Institute. Students and advisors met with congress in support of technical training. SkillsUSA is an integral part of public career and technical education (CTE). The WTLI experience enables students to enhance their leadership, teamwork, communication, and citizenship skills which complement occupational skill training. This is just another way in which SkillsUSA promotes quality educational experiences.
